| Crazy Times
Wow, things have been crazy. We are moving the day after tomorrow!! I can't wait, but I need time to slow down a little so I can get everything done, too. We have got almost everything packed except the things we are still using on a daily basis. But tonight I am going to get as much of the leftover stuff packed as I can since Mike is working late. Tomorrow night we have a final walk-through, and Thursday morning we close! Friday morning the movers are coming bright & early, so this is it! Then we spend the weekend unpacking and setting everything up in our new home! It's exciting but also very very tiring. There isn't enough coffee in the world to keep me going it seems.
The garage sale over the weekend went so well. Once we had it all set up and the sale was actually going on, it was lots of fun. Plus, we made some extra loot which is always a bonus. I had 2 things I really wanted to sell & not donate - all my Stampin' Up stamps, and a Coach bag. Both sold early in the day so I was pleased. The stamps went to a lady who bought them for her daughter's ninth birthday, so that made me happy.
I have had very little time for knitting lately, so not much new there. I have been trying to knit whenever I have a chance, there just hasn't been much chance lately. |

| Warm Kidneys, Warm Hearts
I am totally over this heat, yo. Even with the AC cranked it is still hot up in here. I can't wait until we have central air!
Today Mike & I have been busy getting all the services set up at the new crib. I got the garbage going, and also found out about the city recycling program and ordered the bins. Mike is in charge of internet/cable, power, and water, which I think are almost taken care of. We are getting so close! We close ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!
Other than that stuff, I have been getting stuff packed and pricing things for our huge garage sale this weekend. Please stop by to say Hi if you are in the area! Here is the posting on Craig's List so you will have all the info.
In knitting news, the Zombie Prom Date Knitters have decided to resurrect our Kidney Kozies project. Kidney Kozies are knit/crocheted/quilted shawls that we make and donate to dialysis patients. Having dialysis treatment actually lowers a person's body temperature, so these shawls help to keep patients warm and cozy during treatment. We also decided to list this service project on Serve.gov in hopes of getting the word out. Maybe we can score some new members and some extra Kidney Kozies, too!! As a side note, if you haven't checked out Serve.gov, you totally should. Pick a project and do it! |

| Long Time No Blog
Packing is going well. We still have plenty to do, but I think we have accomplished quite a bit already. So I am a little less stressed about that. Just a little. We are short on boxes at the moment, hopefully we can scare some up tonight. We are also having a garage sale this Saturday. Hit me up if you want details. We are selling lots of stuff, so it should be good.
At bowling last week, I was on fire!! The week before I bowled my highest game ever, a 137. I assumed it was a fluke, but then I bowled 124, 137 (AGAIN), and 136. So maybe it wasn't a fluke?? Before bowling on Thursday we had a few minutes to kill, so we stopped by the Salvation Army near the bowling alley. I found the coolest bowling bag ever! It's very 80's and retro. It's all blue vinyl and so cool. I cleaned it all up and I am looking forward to using it this week. Plus, it was only $2!!
On Thursday night we had all those wicked storms so when I woke up on Friday the internet was down. I can't work without internet because I can't access my database, and my phone also doesn't work without internet. So I managed to get a TON of packing done, which was awesome. The internet didn't come back on until Saturday around noon!
Saturday night we went over to Marc & Heather's for a cookout, and it was awesome! Marc made these amazing steaks and some yummy grilled scallops too. It was so so good. Here are some pics of the debauchery:

Yesterday was Father's Day so we met up with Mike's family and went to the zoo. I love the zoo, so it was really fun. It was nice to spend time with all the kids, and we saw some very cool animals. My fave is the snow leopard, although we didn't get that great of a look at it this trip. I didn't get very many pics because my camera died, but guess what?? I got this pic of me with Tony the Tiger!
As for knitting, I really don't have anything new to report. I am working on 3 pairs of socks right now, but I really haven't had a lot of time to knit. I do have one new sock finished, but I already packed my fake foot, so no pictures of it for a while. I try to steal a few minutes to knit whenever I can, I just haven't been able to make a ton of progress. |

| Fantastical Scarf
Just listed today at Fuzzy Paws Knits - the Fantastical Scarf:
This scarf was hand knit tiny scraps of yarn. Some as short as 6 inches! Contains wool, cashmere, mohair, bamboo, silk, acrylic, hand dyed, and a little novelty yarn as well. I love the way it turned out! I'm asking $48 for this piece because it was very time consuming combining all the tiny scraps. |

| The VP Don't Need No Stinkin' Runway
We headed out for bowling last night, and decided to grab a bite at Brewster's down the street from the bowling alley first. We sat by the window, and about the time my nachos showed up, I noticed a cop on the street outside blocking all the entrances to the restaraunt. We mentioned it to the waitress and she told us that Joe Biden was coming into town. And the airport is anbout 3 blocks from where we were, and directly across the street from where we bowl.
We finished our food really quickly, and headed out because we were worried we would have a problem getting down the street to bowl. We had to go the long way, and the cops had blocked off all of the sidestreets. As we passed the airport, we saw Air Force Two, plus the other HUGE military craft that carries all the security dudes, and a bunch of the black cars for the motorcade were sitting in front of the plane. It was really pretty cool. And they weren't way far away on a runway, they were only like 500 yards from the road. A perfect photo opp.
And of course, I almost always (like 90% of the time) have a camera with me. This was one of those 10% of times that I don't!!! I had been using a small purse for a couple of days so I took the camera out. The irony is, right before we left for bowling, I switched back to my bigger purse, but forgot to put the stupid camera in! Grrrr.
In addition to all the vice presidential excitement, I managed to bowl my highest game EVER, a 137! No idea how it happened, but it was really awesome. Hope it happens some more!
We also found out this week that we are probably closing on July 2nd. SWEET! |

| Blueberry Vanilla Sockies
I finished another sock last night! This one is just a plain jane sock with self striping yarn. I like the colors and I'm happy with how it turned out. This is the first sock, and I'm working on the mate. These cuties, like all of my socks, are not for sale. These are mines all mines.

| Memories
I've always tried to keep tickets ever since I met Mike. Tickets for movies, shows, concerts and things like that. As we go through things to pack and prepare to move, I keep finding little piles of tickets at the back of a drawer or in an old purse. It's quite a trip down memory lane, all these little tickets.
I've started putting them in a photo album and it's so cool. I have the ticket from the first movie that we ever saw together - Romeo & Juliet - dated November 5th, 1996. It's been washed so it's kind of faded & lumpy, but the print is still clearly visible. I have tickets for every Star Trek movie that has come out since we've been together, too, including the current one. I literally have almost every movie ticket from movies that we've seen together. There are a few notable exceptions - we saw Spiderman at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, and those are missing (that kills me because I have Spiderman 2 & 3 tickets so my set is incomplete!). I know we also saw Jesus Christ Superstar at Miller and I don't have those either. But wow, I have lots. I even kept our train tickets to Chicago when we saw Wicked and I have the Wicked tickets too. Chris Rock, HCJ (with his signature on each ticket!), Take 6 (from way back in 97!), Michael Buble, Phantom, Sea Pass cards from both cruises, Star Trek the Experience tickets (from both Vegas trips 01 & 07!), and also our Disney Key to the World cards.
I still hope to find more as I continue going through stuff, but even if I don't, this is an amazing collection, and it makes me smile everytime I go through this album. |

| Meet Morty!
Mortimer is a super cute little guy who can hang out on your desk or travel with you in your pocket. His full name is Mortimer Jenkins, but he prefers just Morty. Morty loves kung fu movies, pepperoni & pineapple pizza, and making new friends. He dislikes big dogs, spicy food, and scary movies.

Mortimer is brand new at Fuzzy Paws Knits today, so be sure to check him out. :) |

| See the Resemblance?
I was packing up some photos during my lunch today, and I came across this one - my mom's graduation picture from 1965. Man, she was a hottie! I wanted to scan it just so that if something happens to the original, I'll have the digital copy. Plus, I thought I'd share. I've always loved this pic.
